HSSC Family and Community Health Programme

Introduction
The family and community health programme has been developed after long and thorough meetings with wide range of medical, health and community based institutions/ organizations presently involved in the vocational and professional training of Para-medical, Nursing and family welfare workers. The programme provides a common professional and educational foundation for health support staff i.e. Para-medical staff and nurses that will complement their vocational and professional training.
 

Eligibility Criteria

The following criteria of students are eligible for HSSC Family and Community Health

  • A candidate having a matriculation certificate with at least second division is eligible for admission in HSSC Family and Community Health programme. The programme is in Urdu language.

Minimum Four semesters (Two year)

AIOU credit requirement

Eight full AIOU credits*
Total Teaching hours for each course (27 hrs)
Practical work for selected courses (41 hrs )

Enrollment
HSSC Family and Community Health was launched in 1997. Since then students are motivated to engage in this programme. The enrollment of last three years are shown in these graphs:

Alumni
HSSC Family and Community Health was first time launched in 1997. It is offered all over Pakistan and in both semesters i.e., Autumn and Spring. Initially the enrollment of the students was high but gradually as the new programmes launched, it started declining. But still male students are more interested than females. So far 103 Students have completed their HSSC programme in Family and Community Health. Year and gender wise distribution of degree awarded students is shown in the bar graph.
