The Department was established in 1985. The department imparts education and training to teachers for the special children in four specialization namely visual impairment, hearing impairment, physical disabilities and mental retardation with particular emphasis to facilitate mainstreaming of special children. Parents of the special children are also admitted to these programmes.

| Admission Requirement: |
Graduate holding MS/MPhil in the relevant area or equivalent with GPA 3.00/Ist Division will be eligible for admission in PhD Programme.
Test and Interview will be conducted by the department concerned. Candidate will apply for admission on prescribed form to the concerned chairman of the department. If the candidate wishes to apply in more than one specialization, he/she has to apply separately for each specialization.
