| Introduction: |
This department of Arabic is one of the pioneer departments of the university. This department was established in 1974 as an initially part of Institute of Arabic and Islamic Studies. Later on this department started its functions as part of the faculty of Arabic and Islamic Studies in 1988. The nature of this department is unique and some programmes of Arabic such as ATTC offered only in this department. Matric to PhD level programmes are offered by the department.

ii) Intermediate with Arabic as an elective subject
