The Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme is an important initiative under revolutionary initiative of Prime Minister’s Youth program. The National Scheme envisages distribution of laptops to young and bright student studying in public sector Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) across the country and Azad Jammu & Kashmir. Higher Education Commission (HEC) Hold the honor of executing the program.
I am pleased to inform you that the Project Steering Committee on PMNLS, Phase-III in its 16th meeting held on January 2, 2017 has given extra ordinary consideration to the Special Students studying in the public sector HEIs and approved the award of laptops to all disable students from the special Quota. Accordingly, the standard eligibility criteria is not applicable to all such special students and there shall be no minimum CGP/Percentage requirement for such special students.
All the students of a programme of 16 years education or above enrolled in AIOU following in such category are informed to
· Provide requisite information along with documentary evidences to Direcotor Students Affairs Counseling Services enabling this office to forward exact data to HEC for favourable consideration.
· They are further advised to provide the information keeping in view the following criteria so that their eligibility might be determined on the basis of their time of enrollment in AIOU.

· All such students are further advised to send the copy of CNIC, Roll No. Registration No. Programme in which presently enrolled and semester of enrollment and No. of semesters (1,2,3,4) he is now enrolled.
· The Students will also ensure that he has not availed this facility from any Government funded scheme or any PMNL Scheme.
The eligible special students are directed to submit their applications to Directorate of Students Advisory & Counseling Services by 20th June, 2017. |
