An introductory course on plant biochemistry will include topics on plant metabolism, and the biochemical basis of plant adaptation, with emphasis on plant-specific biochemical pathways and processes, and their regulation and molecular biology. Topics like Photosynthesis, Nucleic Acids, Proteins, Aflatoxins, Vitamins, Storage carbohydrates, cell wall biosynthesis, lipid metabolism; and biochemical ecology of secondary plant metabolites including isoprenoids, and alkaloids will also be covered. |
