Plant physiology is a sub discipline of botany concerned with the functioning of plants. This course focuses on Mechanism of photosynthesis. Photophosphorylation. CO2 reduction (dark reactions) - C3 pathway and Photorespiration, C4 pathway, CAM pathway. Mechanism of respiration- Glycolysis, Krebs cycle, Electron transport chain and oxidative phosphorylation. Aerobic and anaerobic respiration, Pentose phosphate pathway. Glyoxylate cycle & Cyanide resistant respiration, mechanism of phloem transport. Gaseous exchange, mechanism of stomatal regulation; and Assimilation of Nitrogen, Sulphur and Phosphorus |
